Carthage, Missouri

Just outside of Carthage, Missouri stands the 66 Drive In Theater. Originally constructed in 1949 when the drive-in craze had no end in sight, the 66 Drive In, like so many others, fell into a state of neglect for many years.

Work began in 1996 to restore it to its former state of glory, and as you can see, the effort was quite successful. The theater hosted a re-dedication bash in April 1998 with a film-cutting ceremony.

The 66 Drive In is once again active in presenting full-length feature films during the summer months. Check their web site (link below) for coming titles.
