Route 66 Mother Road Museum

Dedicated to the Spirit of Route 66 since its grand opening on July 4, 2000, the Route 66 Mother Road Museum offers a variety of exhibits including: Main Street USA; old photos of downtown Barstow; Route 66 through the Mojave; automobile memorabilia, including a 1915 Model-T, a 1964-1/2 convertible Ford Mustang, a 1966 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, and a 1947 Harley Davidson Trike; and so much more.

Photo exhibits, changing displays, a fine gift/souvenir shop, handouts about Route 66 and the area, and friendly docents make for an interesting visit.
Admission is free. Regular hours of operation are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment. The museum is located in the beautiful Casa del Desierto, an outstanding example of the Harvey House chain of fine railroad hotels.
