Cool Springs Camp has become one of Route 66's most successful restoration efforts.

Just a few years ago, the remains of Cool Springs were little more than a pile of nondescript rocks baking in the Arizona sun beside old highway 66 between Kingman and Oatman. Then, the Leuchners discovered it and, based on old photographs and other information, restored it to its historical condition as faithfully as humanly possible.
