Just off old Route 66, on U.S. 166, is a unique coffee shop with a close relationship to the motoring public. The Keen Bean Coffee Shop in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, has sprung from an abandoned self-service car wash with four concrete block bays, and has now matured into a lively, fun place to get home-roasted coffee rivaling any that claim Seattle connections. Keen Bean also features a breathtaking array of scrumptious pastries, salads, and sandwiches sure to please any roadie.

The business has been owned and operated by Tracy and Darrell Bradshaw since 1995. Open Monday thru Friday 8am-2pm and Saturdays 8-Noon.
