Whitehall Mercantile
Halltown, Missouri

| Front door on Route 66 |
Currently run by Jerry and Thelma White, Whitehall Mercantile is a step back in time. The building itself is over a century old, and the Whites have filled it with more than 30,000 antiques and other collectibles at last count.
Thelma and Jerry are co-founders of the Missouri Route 66 Association, and Thelma has even published a booklet of interviews that she's done with people who lived and worked along the Mother Road in its heyday.
Even back in 1946 when Jack Rittenhouse wrote his A Guide Book to Highway 66, he noted that the area was known for its antiques. Whitehall Mercantile has limited hours, but if they're open when you're passing through, you'll have your own opportunity to browse the store “where yesterday meets today.”
