Route 66 Events Calendar
Below are some of the upcoming events along Route 66. Feel the power of the Mother Road first-hand.

- September 10, 2009 thru August 2010
- Route 66 in Arizona: Don’t Forget Winona! is a photo exhibit featuring 22 contemporary and historic images of Route 66 that guide the visitor from Lupton to Topock, along with 8 display cases dedicated to specific Route 66 themes including: an introduction to Route 66; repeat photography; vacation and travel destinations along Arizona Route 66; Native Americans, Santa Fe railroad, and trading posts; Flagstaff; preservation (including our oral histories); and maps. The grand opening for the event is tied to the Flagstaff Route 66 Festival/Will Rogers Preservation Awards event slated for September 9-13, 2009 in Flagstaff. The public opening will be Thursday, September 10, 2-5pm in the Cline Library, Special Collections and Archives, Northern Arizona University.

- Get ready for the October Big Blowout Cruise-In to be held in front of “4 Women on the Route” (voted the 2008 Route 66 New Business of the Year). According to Melba Rigg, co-owner of 4 Women, last year's Cruise-In had a total of 146 cars and bikes, live band, DJ, craft vendors, and good food. This year she promises two bands, including “The Route 66 Road Crew.”

- Race to the Rocker - Participate in a competitive, timed, and very unique 4-mile run in a straight route from historic downtown Cuba, Missouri to the World's Largest Rocking Chair at the Fanninig US 66 Outpost in Fanning, Missouri. The race will begin at the Britton Funeral Home in Cuba. Registration begins at 8:00 am; $20 if pre-registered by March 10th, or $25 after March 10th. Children 10 and under are $10, but must be accompanied by an adult registration. After March 10, registrations for children 10 and under will be $15. - September 4-15, 2010
- Ride for the Relay, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is a ride from Chicago to Santa Monica raising money for research to help find a CURE for cancer. The ride covers every inch of Old Route 66 that is considered safe for a motorcycle. This will be the 5th year. Hotels are set up, as are many activities along the way.
