Route 66 Photo Albums

The photographs in the University's collection are organized into the groups shown below. Each album will open in a new browser window, enabling you to easily return to the main portion of the site after viewing one or more albums.

Collectively, these groups of photographs comprise a visual, virtual tour of the Mother Road.

Note that only a tiny fraction of the University's thousands of photographs is available at this time. More material will be added as time and other resources permit.

Album 5 Signs: a collection of some beautiful, unique, and/or quirky signs along Route 66, including the Blue Swallow, Jackrabbit Trading Post, Finn's Motel, . . .
Album 6 Signs: more great signs on Route 66, including Rest Haven Court, Munger Moss, Lewis Motel, and Barbara's Beer Garden.
Album 7 Includes McLean Phillips station, Gardenway Motel, Hackberry General Store, and many more.
Album 8 Classic sepia-toned black-and-white images, including Lucille's, Shea's, and downtown Texola.
Album 9 Photos of the artist-made village of Red Oak II, just outside of Carthage, MO.
