Route 66 Bed and Breakfast a Possibility
2007-09-08 18:05:30
NORMAL, Ill. - Several Normal Town Council members say they've often looked at the historic building at 305 Pine Street and thought more could be done with it. But, they're not sure they can meet the owner's request.
Terri Ryburn-Laymont wants to turn it into a Route 66 visitor and education center that will include a bed and breakfast and more. She's secured some grant money, but can't afford needed repairs before winter. So, she's asked the council for almost $400,000. Mayor Chris Koos says the project would be valuable to the community.
Koos told council members they should meet with Ryburn-Lamont and learn more about her business plan.
