New Book Showcases Unusual Signs

Roadsign fans rejoice: Caution: Funny Signs Ahead has just been released by the good people at RoadTripAmerica.com (Ulysses Press, 164pp, $11.95).

Caution: Funny Signs Ahead is an extensive collection of bizarre, humorous, and otherwise visually-arresting signs rounded up for your enjoyment by Megan Edwards and Mark Sedenquist.

This roadie's personal favorites include "No Smoking on Campus Prohibited" and "Brakeless Trucks Use Freeway" (as though I needed one more reason to stay off the interstates!). Each sign photo is accompanied by an insightful caption to add to the visual or grammatical pun.

This book will (a) make you regret all the times you saw something crazy but didn't get a picture, and (b) get you busy poring through all of the photos you did take in an effort to find that really great one from a few years ago. If you find it, the authors want to hear from you so that they can include it in the next installment.

Well, I've gotta go—I just remembered I have a photo of a drive-thru barber shop that Megan and Mark are sure to be interested in.
